  • Ken Lawrence Explorer

It's going to be my Big 4-0 birthday present, wild inlays, exotic wood top and side leds!

Does anyone here have a KL Explorer?

Yes I have the first Ken Lawrence explorer ever made from a single piece of Mahogony.

Exact Hetfield specs including red fiber optic fret markers/Chechen top/black mother of pearl inlays and I stole it at only a little over 3000 dollars got it from Sean from the ESP boards.

                      Wow - that's a stunner!

What do these go for new?

He has been raising the prices I beleive they start at 7500 and go up from there depending on what you want. A little over a year ago one like mine sold for 6000 to a guy in Italy so I wont be selling mine anytime soon.

He plays bass and works for Mesa/Boogie in their R&D department, from what I remember. He mainly makes basses, but he does the occasional guitar which is pretty expensive! He did have a website at one time, but it doesn't seem to be up.

Why are they so expensive? I mean, they look nice, but what's so great about them?
