How does the USRG compare to the J custom ...... in terms of craftsmen ship, quality, playability ....etc?

Thinking about picking one of these up soon, but the USA customs can be had for half the price or less.

I actually like the neck on the RG1220 better than the J-Custom. It just seems to feel a little better to me. It's a high quality instrument for sure. That being said, I am thinking seriously about selling it, and maybe the Jem too. I have become addicted to mahogany.

I had an RG520QS for awhile that had a mahogany body. It was a great guitar, but I ended up selling it in one of my many housecleanings. They are not too expensive and are a great way to get a nice, mahogany-bodied RG with a Super Wizard neck.

The RG3120 is another nice mahogany-bodied RG.

Ok JEM experts... help me with something... my USA 94' model with
the zero tension neck is about 3/8"ths at the nut thick! I kid you not.
I searched Sam Ash, and Ed Roman, and GC this weekend in Vegas
and NO other Ibanez' came close to mine in neck thickness! More
like my Jackson Dinky. I would say that most wizard II necks are
about 5/8" of an inch at the nut? Are there any other Ibanez''s
with the super thin neck of my prestige? Im not kidding...this thing
is 5/8" thick at the body!! :-))

Yep that RG1220QMTO isn't mahogany. I believe it may be alder. The USA Custom neck on it is about perfect but it doesn't have the mahogany body that I want. The quilt maple body is awesome though. The pictures don't even come close to doing it justice.

BTW, I just got done cleaning/restringing and installing a Tremol-No on my J-Custom. I seriously doubt I will be selling that one unless it is to finance a nicer J-Custom.
