  • Ed Roman... i thought there might be some deals..but of course

Ed is going for the major Fleece of any potential customers.
I walked around July 5th in Vegas... store was about 1/4 full
from what it was 10 months before.. only had 3 employee's around
and so i asked the kid "How much for that 89' Ibanez floral JEM?"
he said "Oh..i can let that one go for $3100.00!"
I said.."gee i should have considered it 8 months ago, when it
was only $2500.00! Heck it says $2499.00 on his website!!
Anyway... everything that was left over seems to be 25% more.
He had one marbelized J Frog that was nice...but even that was
$4K! And some USA made Bernie Rico's but they wanted $5800 for
them also. Sorry...just a rant..but if your going out of business,
you should have a couple of deals? I dont know the model # of
this Ibanez but its the swirled one (black/white/grey/ that looks like
someone poured chocolate syrup over the body and pickups..?
Very cool. But it was $1700 8 months ago...now they want $2200
for it! Glad i never bought anything from the "Hobbit!

I was hoping there'd be some deals to be found with the closing of that location and all. I'd love to score one of those Vinnie Vincent models. Alas, perhaps it was never to be...

I'm sure this is just one of many reasons why he is going out of business. I had the misfortune of speaking with him once and I can honestly say, he is a major dick. I know this is not news but it still amazes me that someone like him could become successful for so long.

Any JCF bros live in Vegas? We need frequent updates on this matter. Perhaps even a sticky thread? Mods?

            Fukkum

Fukkum...Ron you should have stomped his ass for real instead of that pansy ass kick you gave him!

You could have got away clean...no problem.

Ed Roman is a waste of perfectly good bumwipe.

I hope his website goes under soon!

I really don't like seeing his ugly ass looking guitars, and hear his stupid ass rants on Ibanez, PRS ......etc

I know lots of people are celebrating the demise of the Leprechaun, but I think it's premature. He had ventures before the Vegas superstore, and I bet he resurfaces again. I picture him with a strip-mall sized storefront, a place to build knockoffs like he always has, and the same obnoxious web presence. Like a cockroach, he's not going down easy. For this reason, I don't think we'll see a true liquidation sale at the big store. He's just trying to cash in on the free publicity to sting a few idiots before moving on.

Is he really going out of business? There was another article out there where Ed said he was planning on opening another store in Vegas but it will be smaller...

Please, people, don't buy anything from Ed Roman. He has a shop where he builds and logoes fakes of real guitars. Those "J Frogs" are ones HE built, not J Frog himself. Many of the BC Riches he's sold were not made by BCR, but in Ed Roman's shop. Ask around the BC Rich forum - those guys have dealt with his antics for years until they finally found out what he was doing (i.e. building knockoffs of major brands).

This is not a case of "GMW made my Jackson" vs "My Jackson was made at the Jackson facility where Mike Shannon works", this is a case of "I ordered my custom BCR through Ed Roman but when I had a warranty issue, BCR had no record of the order being placed, and stated Ed Roman was not an authorized BCR Custom Shop"

I wouldn't buy picks from the guy - he probably makes them himself out of stolen credit cards.

Perhaps I'm mistaken but I thought one of the articles I read stated that he had already sold the shop thus the shop is under new ownership. Please clarify if he stills own the shop or not.
