MIM strats are awesome! I have a 2006 MIM Strat with HSS config and its the best playing guitar feel wise. The stock pickups sound too tinny so they will be replaced pretty soon. The guitar stays in tune really well (when not using the trem bar of course ..)
Wouldn't mind getting another MIM strat in the near future, or even a MIM tele. Might have to buy one from the US though as they are ridiculously expensive over here (MIM fenders go from $800-1200, My strat was $1200 but I got it for $1000)Nathan (Slashrox)
Kramer Pacer Deluxe (1984)
Fender Stratocaster (2006)
Jackson PC-1 (2012)
Kramer Pacer Classic (2013)
Gibson Les Paul Traditional (2014)
Roland Cube 80gx 1x12 combo
Fender Supersonic 4x12 cab

I've owned several. My favorite was a 1999 MIM sunburst standard w/rosewood board. I could do anything with it and then some. I also had a 2002 model that ripped. I've been to a couple Guitar Centers and played several of the same model (Standard Strat w/3 singles) and have found that they are alot like Les Pauls. You have to try several of them before you find one that hits the sweet spot for ya. You can want that black with maple board Strat all you want, but looks aren't always where its at. In Tucson, out of all the Strats GC had, the best one was the sickest agave green with a rosewood board where as I was looking for a white Strat with a maple board that sounded like crap compared to the green one.
Standard MIM Strats are like hotrods. You can modify the crap out of em if you want. I had a late 90's model that I put the Tom De Long pickguard on with a Di Marzio Evo and a 500k pot. I got some locking tuners in black and a black 6 screw bridge from Stew Mac and I was in business! Like others said before..........it's all in the eyes and ears of the beholder. One man's crap is another man's treasure.

I'd hack in a couple of Super Distortions and somehow get an OFR in there as well. Then I'd be cooking with gas LOL!

I've got a '92 MIM Strat. I has a SD JB Jr in the bridge and black Tele knobs on a light met.blue body with white pickgaurd. It sounds good and though I like thicker frets better it still plays well. Only thing I don't like is the standard bridge. I've always wanted a floyd in it. I played a friends American one once and thought mine felt better.

And just last night I hit the BIN on ebay for a MIM trans blue Deluxe Players Strat. Should be here in a couple days, I can't wait!I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I've been intrigued with that model for awhile, mainly because of the 12" radius. I finally pulled the trigger on one. I've got a set of DiMarzios laying around (Chopper/Fast Track 1/Fast Track 1) just in case the Vintage Noiseless pups don't do it for me.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

i gotta jump in.
after deciding to keep my MIM strat, even though it's a parts monster now, with a killer after-market scalloped neck, lefty stock; a killer guitar with a great sound to boot (minus the crap bridge hummer!).
and i'm keeping it, and playing it until it falls apart.
well...and throwing in a different bridge humbucker, haha!
hey, does anyone know if another humbucker will fit into the HSS pickguards for MIM strats? they have this weird 2 hole on top/1 hole on the bottom pick-ups screws. crazy.
