$799.00 is a decent price but not a steal. In any case... its a damn fine guitar. Carvin makes great guitars.
Ok... once again...Bob doesnt get a JC deal ! Drats.. But this may
keep me from spending another $7K on a Private stock. Its that nice.
And $1200.00 in 05...is like $3400 now! :ROTF: Wasnt gas like 55 cents
    back then?

That guitar is worth every penny you spent for it. I used to be endorsed by Carvin so I know a thing or 2 about their quality. Its as good as most any other custom shop.
Thats the nice thing about Carvin. Custom shop quality at production prices.
Their only downside... is the lack of pickup options. Its Carvin or nothing.
Luckily for me.. I thought their pickups were great.
My favorite model is the 1989 DC400.

                      Nice guitar .....

Did you get a Y cable? When I bought my Brian Moore C90P it came with a Y cable. I think they're pretty expensive too, like $40.

                      Here you go.....

jesus that is a gorgeous axe, bro. Carvin makes such nice stuff. I played that chambered Alan Holdsworth tele thing (Tim has one?) and it was light as a feather and super resonant.

                        but, 18 lbs?

also too many knobs and thingys on it for my taste though.

Congrats, Robert! That looks like a sweet axe. I've never played a Carvin but I certainly would like to give one a try.
                            Unleash the fury.....Texas style!

IMO they are very close to an overall "Feel" of a PRS..
But this Fishman has me playing a miked Martin right now! It has
so many variations of "Blend" from its "woody" acoustic sound to a bit
of neck PUP...or split single coils...(Bright, or warm...bass boost or trebly!)
And then you can cancel out everything except the bridge Humbucker
and rip. Its actually hotter than my 92' Jackson Dinky.. i would say about
the same as the Jackson PC-1. So lacking the 3 minutes sustain of
the PC-1..(this one only sustains for 35 seconds!) its almost an amplified
Martin...PC-1 Jackson...and a PRS Artist rolled into one axe!
