Rand Collection

I went to a LOCAL guitar shop 08/25/2007 and all three RAND GUITARS were sold, two to one owner and one to another now.

I felt a disturbance in the force and gravitated to the shop Saturday to find all 3 gone. The owner Mr. Hibbs has a bunch of wonderful guitars. With these three gone it's like a big hole in the place.

Around 50 (53?) production models and nobody really seems to know how many pre-pros and one-offs he built (I'm still trying to find out). According to the people closest to him, they feel 60-70 guitars total.

Excuse my ignorance, but I had never heard of 'Rand' guitars before, they sure are beautiful. I had always wondered what Campbell played in those Whitesnake vids. Thanks for the information.

Eds prices are retarded. He's got a Vinnie Vincent rip off down there for $6k. You could have it built by any other custom shop for better than half, and judging by the reviews of his guitars, it would probably be sturdier built elsewhere.

He's had that one forever but we've never been able to get close on price. He wants my RR LTD so he holds me hostage with this Rand in attempt to score it and its not gonna happen.

He had a white one as well...is it gone?

It's a real one that he's had for a long time (early 90's). He used it as his template for the copies that he builds. As for the white one that I mentioned above that he used to have, I'm not so sure it was real as I never got a chance to see it up close.
