I'm not 100 % on the name of the color, but I've heard it referred to as "iced tea", which IMO is a pretty good description. The color is what put me over the edge. I really like a nice vintage tobacco burst, and this is similar, but more subtle.

As for the year, well it is a 1980.

Okay, I have to own up. I tricked you all. Here's a pic of the headstock. It will explain all.

Hey, I never said I got a GIBSON did I?

LOL Everyone should own at least one Stratocaster, too.

I think I'm gonna find myself a Burny Les Paul with a Kahler, then I have everything I ever loved in a guitar, in one axe

Well, that took a while to arrive. It was just dropped off. It's in pretty good condition. Not mint by any stretch, but not beat up either. Normal wear and tear for a 27 year old guitar. The neck feels great, and the inlay is real MOP and not that cheap plastic shit that Gibson uses. My one complaint is the smell. It friggin stinks, mostly cigarette smoke I think. I can't wait to get home and give it a good bath. A good polish, fretboard condition, and new strings, and she'll be good to go. I'll post some pics then too.

                Zeegler,
That one is pretty cool. I'm of the mind that those older copies are just as good as the originals. Better than the new ones, IMHO...

Can't wait to see the pics...

                  Looks nice Zeeg, congrats!
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

                    nice one!

so how are these old Arias? On the rare occasions I encounter an Aria, it's only ever the mid-late 80s shredder type guitars in the shops, and they've always seemed cheap & never impressed me much. But I see folks here favour some of the old models.

Well if that was a real Gibson the color would be called Vintage Burst. But nice one. Didnt Neal Schon play an Aria Pro LPC for a while?

Some of those mid 70's Ibanez's LP were very high quality also.

                          Robert,
If you can find a set-neck Ibanez LP copy for that price, BUY IT, no questions asked...

The bolt-ons? Meh. But set-necks? Yes please...

Stay away from anything from the late 80s. The ones to get are the Japanese made models. Pre 87. Late 70s, early 80s ones are the real jems.
