  • RG550 in the house

Picked up this slightly battered veteran at the local GC today...

Plays great, neck is straight, just has some cosmetic issues. I'll probably post some 'after' pictures when I'm done cleaning it up and giving it a fairly in depth setup and such.

What year is she? Nice score, wish one of those would drop in my lap like that.

great guitars, I just hate those 80's colour schemes. friend of mine has a laser blue one though, which is really neat.

Video clip of me playing her...

Playing over a satriani backing track with a newly acquired RG550. Still working a few bugs out on it, but I dig it.

I actually like the desert yellow paint... but hey, I grew up in the 80s. Guitar next to it is an RG570. The 550 is from 89, and plays/sounds great, just a little rough cosmetically. I paid more for it than I wanted to, but much less than a reissue... and the thing stays in tune like a champ.

The older Ibanez RGs are bad ass.

Man! I havn't seen one of those since the Jane's Addiction vid for Stop! Killer. I would love to have one of the black ones with a maple board. I have played a few and love em. Ibanez makes some killer stuff for sure.

Very cool, I picked up one of the 20th anniversary in DY. I've always regretted getting rid of my 87.
