What makes you think it's built in LA? The description says "NJ Series", which for most of us translates to "New Japan". FYI, a lot of BC Rich neck plates say LA on them even when from Japan, similar to the Japan Charvels having PO Box USA.

If it's USA, it will say USA on the headstock. If it says NJ Series, then its an import.

The controls on the USA have the 3 switches inbetween the volume and tone. Hard to see on mine:

easier to see here (the one on left):

The switches are in a different place on the craigslist guitar.

    Headstock of mine:

I'd ask him for a pic of the headstock.
If it's NJ Series, its worth about the $200 he's asking.

I thought it was Nagoya, Japan.

Love that color. I'd say it's worth $200...

I thought NJ stood for Nagoya, Japan as well...

Yes, I've heard that also, along with 'the New Japan' Series, which may be just someone's shortcut as they couldn't remember the Nagoya. I've also heard people say NJ stood for New Jersey as that's where Class Act was based.

When I saw it I was thinking ST-3 but now I am not so sure. The color is what got me too.

We shall see I emailed him and called him. I have a lock on it until 1030 tomorrow at least.

that's a good price. I'd get it if I were in the Market for an 80's Metal Guitar ATM

My 1988 Warlock said "made in LA" as well and had the import style pointy headstock. Kinda like Kramer if ya know what I mean.

Worth $200, but not much more. They are very hit and miss. I'd want to see it first.

And yes, "Nagoya, Japan". Not New Jersey, and NOT made in LA.

N.J.Series stands for Nagoya Japan, the place where the imports were originally made

The L.A.Califoria USA neck plate means absolutely nothing,B.C.Rich put them on virtually everthing to show that the parent company was an American company-makes it very misleading by them ack then
