Fett, I now you need a reason to post. How are the pickups and on the Ping trem is it low grade system with the not so fine tuners?
    Just one more guitar!

I just plugged it in after 3 months of non-play. The fine tuners work with small turns. It tuned up well. The Floyd went up and down and came back to tune. The pickups are very bright. Almost twangy. This guitar is a "fett gett"
I am a true ass set to this board.

there is a reason they are blowing them out like that.

and it starts with the letter U.

anyway, yeah I can't blame you for trying one at 149.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

          U= Used, Ugly, Utterly Unplayable?

          I kinda dig them.

Are they actually MIC? That's kind of a high starting price for a Chinese piece.

I just ordered the black one with the Dual Hum and black pearloid pickup. For that price you can't go wrong.
              Damn, I love this Interweb.

ah, that there be a symptom of a cheap ceramic pick-up.

Same model I ordered. Hope MF gets on the ball. I ordered mine on 8-1 and as of 8-3 it still says "being packed"

I played the FR tonight for about 30 minutes. Here is the good and the bad...

                      The Good :

When the Floyd is set up correctly, it stays in tune better than any trem I have ever used....including a standard Floyd or Lic Floyd. This is impressive since I figured a new guitar with new strings would take some time to settle down.

The neck....unfinished on the back so it is nice and smooth. The action once the Floyd was set up is really nice. I am impressed with the neck.

The looks...this guitar looks really nice. The black finish and the pearl pickguard look really good.

                      The Bad :

The guitar has NO instructions with it. I figured the "Speedloader" trem out but I can't imagine someone who is not used to tinkering and setting up their own gear owning this guitar. I read one review where the owner said "I can't get all of the strings in tune with the fine tuners". I know what he means but I figured out that the Floyd must be adjusted (both action/height, intonation and spring tension. It is not that difficult but something a casual buyer/player would not be happy with.

The pickups....THEY ARE BRIGHT!!!! The double coils in this guitar are most likely ceramic pickups. They are loud, bright with little bass or "crunch". They get plenty of distortion, harmonics but lack that chunky sound I prefer. SO.....pickup change (at least in the bridge position) is an upgrade I will make.

Bottom line....for the blowout price of $149 ....this is a fun guitar. With an understanding of how to set up the speedloader and a pickup upgrade you have one unique and fun guitar. The guitar does come with all the tools you need for the Floyd and a gig bag.

                      -B

Floyd himself said the headstock stayed on because it was "unnatural" without it and many players had their hands slip off the end of the neck while JAMMING. ;-)

There are instructions that you can download on a PDF file. Also the saddles have some allen screws on the saddle that are parallel with the body, if you loosen or tighten them them they increase or decrease the tention of the string by movng the "bullet" end of the string.
