Could you post some sound bites when you finish it?

Will do. The cool thing is all the wiring worked the first time. I was really sweating it - troubleshooting that rat's nest of wires and plugs would have sucked.

The only thing left to do is drop the nut down - it's way too high right now.

I had to dig for that to. Is the battery for the sustainer pickups? Very cool guitar.
              Just one more guitar!

The Floyd is presumably for bending open strings and just general tuning stability.

I really like the sustainer idea. This thread is encouraging me to make a "good" fretless now which is not so good!

Think I could get by playing in a metal band without frets?

cool idea, and good looking to boot!

but now that it's a guitar, what are you going to chop your veggies on?
                  Hail yesterday

I don't see a lock nut in the pics. Did you have to make a new nut to keep the action lower?
I'm thinking of making a squire 51 I have hanging around here fretless. Any info would be helpful.

I have not fixed the nut yet. The slots still need to be cut deeper. They're way too high right now. A Floyd nut isn't going to work without shaving the shelf deeper. I am probably going to block the trem and put a D-Tuna on it and some locking tuners. That should work fine.

Fender Strat made in the 80's that had a string lock on the headstock after the nut.
