Looks like a 79 to me judging by the S and 9 in the serial number.
Reasons to keep it
1.Large headstock.
2.Odd color (in big demand right now)
3.HARDTAIL ( in huge demand right now)
4.3 bolt neck
5.In great original condition.
Don't let a dealer or buyer say the 70s strats are not collectible right now because they are.

S9 serials were used until early '82 on Std. Strats. S9 was used until mid '83 on Jazz Basses.Comment

International Series/Colors were not available in '79.Comment
