        Looks like a 79 to me judging by the S and 9 in the serial number.
        Reasons to keep it
        1.Large headstock.
        2.Odd color (in big demand right now)
        3.HARDTAIL ( in huge demand right now)
        4.3 bolt neck
        5.In great original condition.
        Don't let a dealer or buyer say the 70s strats are not collectible right now because they are.
        I'll bet you could get $1600.00 with no problem.

          S9 serials were used until early '82 on Std. Strats. S9 was used until mid '83 on Jazz Basses.

              That's what I thought. They had Custom Colors, but the International Series colors, according to the book I have, came in '81.
