  • Fair trade?

    Hi guys,

I've been talking to a guy about trading my ebony 2006 Gibson Explorer for his old ESP M-1 (2 humbuckers, floydrose, 22 frets, bolt-on, hockey stick headstock). I'm not sure how old it is, though. I'm tempted, but is it a fair trade? Any input appreciated.

    Regards,
    Mads

I would say the Gibby is worth more. Get some cash if you can.

Economically, he'd have to throw in some extra cash.

Ergonomically/guitaronomically/guitarplayeronomically that ESP is probably LIGHTYEARS better than the Gibson. I'd trade it just for the headstock alone!
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

I'd say do the trade buy also get money from the other person

you could buy the equivalent of that with a Kramer name on it (ESP made Kramer parts in the 80's) for like $399 US

Best Online Seller of Fender, Kramer, ESP, Hofner, Rickenbacker, Ibanez electric guitar necks, bodies, and parts!!

they occasionally have H-H and H-S-S Models, but Those are the most popular ones

Definitely an older ESP based on the trem that's in there. It uses set-screws on the top of the saddles to lock the string in place, and it looks like the set screw is missing on the high E (it looks like I see the ball end of the string in that pocket). The trem bars are very special for these, if you trade, make sure he has the bar.

                I'd keep the Gibson.

+1. That ESP just looks very "Meh" to me.
