kids dont differentiate ESP and LTD, at all. they think it's the same thing.
i know a dude that has an m100 or whatever the number is (low import) and he was braging about having an ESP, which turned out to be an LTD.
even salesmen in stores either dont know shit, or are just pitching the LTD stuff as the real deal.. in either case, people are fucking DUMB.
and ESP is a good instrument, where most of the LTDs feel like toys. same issue i have with recent ibanez guitars. not to mention the import deans. but since nobody carries even a JS series here, i cant compare em to any jacksons apart of my charvel fusion and dinky reverse .. and that is kind aof a moot point, since the fusion blows many a custom guitar out of the waterYou can't play no muthfuggin' arpeggios on a tuba...

Any thoughts on how many of those are something else with a "LTD" sticker on the headstock? Wouldn't be the first time it happened....
Vass
a lot of the bands playing LTD are signed but don't move a ton of records. the bands playing ESP branded guitars are moving more records....or at least that is how it seems.
it could come down to the number of guitars you want too. kamelot endorses ESP guitars now, but the last several times i have seen them, thom only plays a horizon and an eclipse. they are not LTDs, but he only has the two. come to think of it, i am not sure what their endorsement deal entails, because he also played a jackson slsmg and a dean ml at the show a couple of weeks ago. i know he used to be endorsed by jackson before fender bought the company....but he auctioned off a lot of his jackson's and gave the money to the spring hill SPCA. anyway, maybe if you want more ESP's you need to take the LTDs....GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....
i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

Also, other things like construction, hardware, quality control, etc. affect the performance of a guitar. ESP's could have better QC an LTD's. its all guessing at this point.Sam

goodwood.... I don't mind that you get wood by acting like a fucking tard and calling me a dick... but you are the one who started personal attacks because some don't like your precious (L)ick (T)arzan's (D)ick guitars.
no matter what you say about them and their fucking woods... they still suck... so brag all you want with your (L)ittle (T)tiny (D)icks."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

lol, we made it to page 10 without namecalling.. much better than I expected
In my opinion the LTD-400 series and up are very well made guitars. Especially compared to a similar priced import Dean, BC Rich or Epiphone.
Why is ESP more popular?
-Many popular bands play them.
-Easier to get than a Jackson (here, anyway)
-Neck thru and real EMGs, but jackson has made very good steps with the current model line-up."I hate these filthy neutrals! With enemies, you know where they stand. But with neutrals... who knows? It sickens me!"

A mahogany guitar made 50 years ago will have much better tone than a mahogany guitar made today. The ESP's could have (notice the underscore to "could" to indicate the guessing...) better grade mahogany than the LTD's.
Remember Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstein guitar body was a 'second' and that original guitar still, to this day, has one of the most sought-after and highly regarded tones of the guitar world.

You are having these homo-erotic fantasies that keep surfacing for no reason. Hey, if that's what you like to talk about I'm sure there must be some other forum somewhere that has people that like to talk about that stuff too...just nobody here...well, except you."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
