  • Got to play a Fender VG synth guitar today for an hour

Why own a 12 string?? :ROTF: With the Roland built in..and about 5 different dropped tunings available at the turn of a knob.. it was great
sounding! Your getting a USA strat with about 6 different guitars , and
20 different tone variables.. for $1600.00. A ton o' fun imo. Anyone else
play one of these? Go to Fenders website for a great video showing it
in action. Its that good in person!

One review mentioned you could hear some dead notes ringing if you played single-note phrases. Makes me worry. Mind you, at that price they're not going to let you try one in the shop either.

I got one as soon as they became available, and I love it. In addition to all the very cool tunings and emulations, it's just a REALLY nice Strat. Rock solid and set up great. I am very pleased with mine.

I live in a different country. Consider they sell them for $3900 over here. :ROTF:

I have been very happy with mine as well. It is a very versatile instrument. I use it at practice so I don't have to carry a bunch of guitars around.

Wow, I was looking at getting the Yngwie strat, but this really complicates matters!

I tried one at the Local GC and it was pretty nice. I just don't see myself spending that kinda coin on a guitar. I looked into it since I wanted to see I could use this guitar live instead of carrying 4 different guitars around. The only problem was it doesn't do Drop C and so I would still have to bring 3 guitars along.
                    Damn, I love this Interweb.

Well...for one thing, from the first 10 seconds of picking it up...i felt right at home. I never once thought i needed to reposition the guitar in
any way, and i dont own a strat! So its not like im very familiar with them. Just a great smooth neck, and good fret finishing. Then you add to what is already a solid $1200 USA strat all the other options...its
a winner! Just check out the video on Fenders site, and hear it played
by a pro. Its every bit as good when you try it out in person.

Now if only it came in a colour other than black or sunburst...no ebony fretboards either, but I'm hankering after some maple anyhow

I tried one out and I liked it. I'm waiting for my local store to get one in to buy. I wish one of the alternate tunings was Eb though. It would be nice to be able to cover most 80's songs with Eb and Standard tuning. The hum, single, 12 string, 6 string, acoustic option is a great idea! I wish it was a VG Jackson

Will Roland make a a kit for just the VG system so I can put it in another guitar? THEN it would be a great score since I wouldn't like to have all that in a strat (just for the visual aspect of it).

Not having Eb is my biggest complaint of the guitar. Maybe in a future version.
