BC Rich Gunslinger?

Well, I guess mine is an old Assassin, then. Darn, I like the name "gunslinger" better Other than the pickups, I can't imagine there is really anything different than a gunslinger......I mean, they look 100% identical in all ways. So an assassin is basically a gunslinger with a single coil in the neck... technically, it is just a version of a gunslinger. So then it still is, technically , a type of gunslinger. That's funny that they went and called it by another name....seems a bit ridiculous.

Hey Lorne, I think I emailed you a picture of my guitar about a year or two ago, and you called it an assassin then, too. Sorry to second guess you......it is just strange how adding an extra pickup resulted in a different model. Plus, those old ads really threw me.

Yeah,I know it is kinda strane that BCR would name it something different,for just adding a single coil,but hey-at least you don't have the same pick up and headstock on a Warlock shaped guitar-those are called "Warlock Assassins"

Did the Gunslinger ever come with diamond inlays? Every one I've seen on the net only had dots. The ASM/Assassin did have diamonds. Was the ASM it's successor/replacement?

There were some custom ordered Gunslingers/Assassins/ST III's with diamond inlays

The Assassin ran alongside the Gunslinger in production,however the Gunslinger was first

Way back when the first 'slingers arrived on these shores, one of my local stores had what was described as a "Gunslinger V". Exactly the same bolt-on maple board, reverse head, single hum setup as your regular ones, but with a V body. (KV pointy rather than trad rounded wings).
Damn, it was sexy, but way out of my price bracket at the time. Don't know where it went, and I've never seen the like of it since.

Little known fact:

Ironically, the prototype...or the FIRST Gunslinger ever made was a neck-thru with a natural finish!!

I'll see if I can get some pics from the owner, a former BC Rich, Jackson and GMP employee.

Cool-there must've been more than one Proto made then,a friend of mine is getting a pair of Graphic neck thru gunslingers later this year or early next
