Well I guess it was just a matter of time until I would take my Striped tele and change it again. I had it equipped with a P90 in a Les Paul Junior style but I never was satisfied with the resulting sound. And with my brand new CAR squier in the house I decided to get it back to how I liked it the best: with Humbuckers.
Here's the way I restored the tele.
Here I just glued the pieces of maple that would close up the holes of the P90 Dogear in place.
And here I planed them down to size.
Here I put in the bridge humbucker in a plastic frame that I sawed out myself. The pieces of maple are clearly visible.

I am glad to have the striped one back with two pickups.
