You are the first person I have found that owns one of these or in your case more than one.
I looked for a thread but did not find one.
Oh well still great looking guitars.
Is the tone as clean as what was on the Rush CD's.
I have never heard a guitar sound as clean as Alex's.
When Alex switched to PRS and then vintage Gibson's later the tone still to my ears is not as clean and natural as on these guitars.
What is the neck shape like?
Did your guitars have the signature pickups when you purchased them?
I look for these guitars all of the time on ebay and pawn shops but no luck.

The bolt on necks are actually both different in shape.
The guitars were available with Evans or SD pickups.
Mine are still factory setups...
I would guess that Alex was using the Evans which are well known for clean tone with low/no noise.

The white one has an Evans HB that splits and is noiseless in either setting. It is a very early model (No Serial Number) and has a medium C shape, flat ebony FB.

The gunmetal grey is later and somewhat thinner and a bit faster feeling.
Almost like a 70s LP Custom fretless wonder shape.

The red neckthough with an R1 nut has a thin C shape with narrow ebony FB. Similar feel to a Nightswan but narrower at the upper register.

I guess I will stay in the hunt for a white or black Aurora. The sound is just so clean even if compared to my EMG's. Maybe I should start going to Canada and hut pawn shops up there.

You should try emailing Rod and ask him when he will produce his Evans pickups again. Im sure if enough people do it, it might happen. Its not the first time he has retired, and come back. The guy has been fucked over by so many people in the industry. When I sold my Siggys, the buyer wouldnt let me scoop out the Evans. They are amazing pickups..............

I will also start hunting for Evans pickups as well as the Auroa.
I tried ebay still no Evans for sale.
