  • Decent deal on a Strat from that MFer

    Decent deal from that MFer.

Get the guaranteed best price on Solid Body Electric Guitars like the Jackson PC-1 Phil Collen USA Electric Guitar at Musician's Friend. Get a low price and free shipping on thousands of items.

I just ordered one of these, and it arrived today $400 below regular retail.

I wondered what the BLEM was. It arrived with body, neck, in perfect condition. The Blem was that a bit of the F of the Fender logo had peeled away.

    That's it.

Olympic White with the mint green pickguard. This guitar is the closest you can get to a Fender custom (same pickups and electronics, same vintage size neck and fretwork, build, same headstock) but this is better because it has med. jumbo frets, unlike the damn custom shop dental floss.

Cool! Does that come with a tweed case or the regular plastic one?

Sweet. I'm getting a custom one built right now. Sherwood Green on 2 piece Alder, thin nitro, Fat C neck, slab rosewood, 10" radius, 6100 frets, real clay dots, Lollar Blackface, and all Callaham hardware. Man, the wait is killing me!

Cool man!!, I've only heard great things about that model.
How is the neck? I've read is on the batty side, not a bad thing really since I love my Strats with a batty neck.

Full neck, not Les Paul size, but I love it. I actually just sold a custom shop 60 reissue daphne blue that I loved. Couldn't stand the frets though. I bought this model and pocketed the $700 difference.

Yowza. Sounds fantastic. I think the Fender custom shop does a really good job. I played Suhr Classics and Grosh Retros, and those are fantastic guitars, but the Fenders have a great groovy vibe that the others can't seem to reproduce.

No on the Tweed. It's the same case they gave me with my Custom however. Brown G&G form fitted.

Weirdly enough, I've seen Tweed cases with some regular ole USA models, but not the Customs.

Nice, the frets do it for me. I like you did not prefer the vintage skinny frets. I sold off all my Strats with the skinny frets. I'm down to my JB Custom Shop and my YJM. I might have to get one of those I noticed Fender is now offering more models with fatter frets. Customer feedback? I dunno.

I think that's true of the Custom Shop artist models, but the reissues are still stuck on the vintage frets. I only found one model that had fatter frets, and that was a limited '66, but with a maple neck.

The brown case is period correct for 62 and what the guitar is supposed to come with, not the tweed listed on Musician's Friend.

The fact that it's form fit is a nice bonus. I think it's a better case than the usual open rectangle design.

Nice deal on a really nice guitar.

Yeah, I like tweed cases, but brown G&G form-fitted sounds great! I was just hoping it would come with something other than the plastic case!

Damn, now you've got me thinking (a dangerous thing)!
