24 vs 27 frets - Opinions Needed

Well I am getting a maple neck and fingerboard and some guys over at the Suhr forum are saying that maple necks with mahogany bodies sometimes don't work to well - that it's better to get a mahogany neck when using mahogany for the body.
But then look at the PC1's.

I have a Charvel that resonates nicely and you can feel the vibration of the guitar and it is all Alder. That is the only Alder one I have had up to this point.
