  • GMW Millenium Headstock?

Just wondering and I know these have been out for some time, but what is your OPINION? Do you think it ROCKS OR SUCKS?

Haven't warmed up to it yet.
Still, it is better looking than a Dean, EB or old Kramers.

Cool and innovative from a design stand-point. Shape-wise, it's OK but I'm not a big fan. Kind of Ibanez-ish.

If you like the shape, though, Lee builds great stuff.

I lke it , I also like the traditional (which I have one of)
Lee makes awesome guitars, my gmw's are my best sounding guitars.
        Lee uses good wood
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

nope...neither one still don't do anything for me and I really doubt they ever will. I'd reather buy used GMW's with the headstock I prefer

Can't stand it. Maybe if it were reversed. For some strange reason, I don't mind the traditional headstock, though.

I really don't like it at all. I'm sure they're fabulous guitars, but I couldn't live with that headstock. Surely they could've come up with something better than that?

Both of the new ones are fugly as all get out. Bring the old one back and pay the trademark rights and ad the price into the guitar or something.

Not sure what Fender charges for trademark.......It could be that they simply do not allow it on complete guitars as opposed to parts (necks).....This coiuld be why you see a lot of licensed Strathead necks (MM, Allparts, Warmoth, Musikcraft, etc.).

If Fender would allow it on complete guitars, I'd think that customers would be willing to cover this licensing fee to get a Strathead???????

Just buy a Carvin paddlehead neck and shape it the way you want.

I like the Millenium but generally prefer it reversed. I'm sitting 2 ft away from one right now and what I will add is that it looks much better in person - photos tend to make it look out of proportion and distorted and they really don't look like that in real life.
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Never seen the millenium or the traditional in person but in those pictures they look butt ugly.

It's not great. It must be hard to come up with a nice looking headstock, because there are so many ugly ones out there.

I agree with Jack that, if possible, GMW should offer a Strat headstock option with the licensing fee added into the price. If that's not possible (and I suspect it isn't, as Mr. Metal suggests), then I can stomach the millenium, but I still think that he can and should come up with something better. It is possible to come up with a "new" headstock that looks nice, as Peavey did with its V-Type, shown here:

They actually came up with that for Vandenberg model which had 'steps' at the tip. That headstock looked better than this one.
