  • Thinking about a Ovation...........

Thinking about a Ovation Celebrity SE Deluxe CSE44 Acoustic-Electric.
Any one know how they play and sound?
I also was wondering what they sound like with no amp.
I have never played a Ovation so I though some one here could help me.
Or if there is a better kind of Ovation that's around the same price but I won't something that has the same look.

    Thanks All,

I love ovations and owned some of their really expensive models way back when I was trying to be a pro musician . I prefer the models with the cutout so you can access the upper frets.

They sound really good to me both pluged in and unplugged and are comfortable to play sitting down and standing up for me. Takes a bit to get used t the round backs but thats the only down side I came upon. I don't do much steel string acoustic stuff today but I bought their cheapy appalause by ovation AE28(made in china) for $149.00 and I tell ya...the thing aint no 150 dollar guitar it plays and sounds 10x better than the cost It also sounds nice unlugged and plugged in, I like the tone adjustment. You can really shred on it, I really play the same way on electric as I do on acoustics, can really do the DiMeola thang on em or neo-classical.

There are tons of sweet and costy acoustics out there and it may be worth you while to go to CG and run through them all before you decide.

I have had quite a few Ovations from the Celebity right up to the Adamas models. They definitely have their sound and are excellent running through the board or amp. It's best as Shawn said, to go try some of them out.
