Gibson SG help needed.

I was at my pawnshop today and saw an SG hanging on the high wall. The headstock looked really strange. It was painted the same color as the guitar "Arctic White". The "Gibson" logo was like in a little boxed off section. I have never seen anything like it. Have you?

No Fett. Sounds like a non-pro refinish and in order to preserve the logo they masked it off with tape or a precut label.

Refin. Was the "box" around the logo black I assume? I've seen this done several times with DIY refins but never professionally. I would see what model of SG it is though...it may be worth buying and refinning correctly if the price is right.

$600?? If you REALLY want a SG, get those faded ones. I've seen them as cheap as $400 in San jose.

With $600, you can buy 10 guitars!!

No sure why, but...

I have a pair of SG's - a 63 Special and a 98 Std. While the SG doesn't look as futuristic as many of my Charvels and Jacksons, it is the guitar that gave birth to Heavy Metal. My 98 SG Std sounds phenominal; great sounding tone.
