The current V-Type in Peavey's line-up is the NTB (Neck Thru Body) version, imported from Korea. They made bolt-on versions a couple years ago, both USA and import models (EXP on headstock).

Here's some old threads on the NTB:

I had a NTB, Korean-made V-Type. It was a nice guitar with a high quality feel. I especially loved the headstock and tuners. I would've replaced the pickups if I had kept it, but that's it. I think it might have been kinda tough to find a case to fit it, as it has a rather wide body.

you can get a case for them but the damn case is $125. thats a high price to pay for a case.

These are essentially the newer versions of the Peavey Vandenberg. Either the licensing with Adrian has run out or Peavey does not feel any more value in Adrian Vandenberg's name!

The Korean made NTB comes with either a fixed bridge (string through body I believe) or with a Peavey LFR. Very nice neck (but rosewood...ebony would have been killer!!!). Short (gibson) scale like the Vandenbergs were. Overall a great playing guitar. I like the dual hums that come with them (kind of vintage sounding) but I've heard other people say that they are not high output enough.

                  Here is the headstock...

                  Here is the guitar herself....

thunderhead, is the v-type a solid body guitar or is it hollow at all? does the abalone binding look good in person or does it look cheap? and are their position markers on the side of the neck since their are no markers on the fretboard? thanks

Yep its a solid body guitar.

The binding looks seriously good...maybe im lucky and i got one with better craftmanship on it. I dont know how the quality control system works with Peavey...but the one i got is amazing...

Yeah there are side dots on the neck. Having no inlays on the fingerboard makes no difference at all ( at least in my case) side dots are more than enough. I got used to it in a day after i got the guitar.Plus i personally think guitars look much better without inlays.

V type guitars are the best buy in the price range in my opion (650$ brand new?...). Than obviously you guys get second hand US made Jacksons just around the 1K mark in US (lucky bastards ...)

used cheap peavy rack mount EQ it will be great! I love this Vandenburg
                          inspired axe!

Really nice superstrat...I've always loved the body on that one. If only they would have toned-down the end of the headstock to a more rounded shape that thing would be aesthetically perfect.

I've seen these before, they look great and have a nice spec for the money. I might have to pick one up sometime.
