  • Esp (ltd) M1000

i saw the ltd m-1000 in the sam ash web site. has anyone tried one of these guitars out. it looks like it has all the bells and whistles. the thing that sucks is it is only available in trans black.

If it was good enough for Glen Drover, it should be fine...

      I bought a ltd m-1000 a few months ago.

It plays and sounds great. (EMGs can do miracles on every guitar)
The action on my m-1000 is very very low without fret buzz.
The neck feels comfortable, a bit thick but I'm used to Jackson speed necks.
It has all the nice features like neck thru, EMGs real floyd, bindings etc...
Do not (!!!) expect good craftsmanship on these ones. Fret work/bindings are not flawless, some screws for electronic cavity do not work etc.
But hey, for that price it's ok

The newer ones are maple bodies, so expect one bright sounding guitar, I think they changed from alder in 02 or 03 to maple...

They are good guitars though, and i've heard plenty of complaints about every manufacturer having not so perfect fretwork including jackson on most models, and ibanez, though I havent heard many complaints about, most people who have owned the deluxe range have been very pleased...

I played one and loved it, but it was too expensive at the time.

              Yes, I put a " " after that post.
              It sounds really great!
But as I said, the overall quality sucks. But it depends if you strike a guitar from a good or a bad run. The quality is not constant.
I've seen good and bad ones.

That's odd because I would say that they have the most consistent quality of any manufacturer. I am not disputing that you got a bad one though. There was one dude who said he played 70 and they all sucked.
My Duncan Designed pickups are way better than Seymour Duncan regular pickups you fanboy.

Yeah...too bad the forum doesn't have a minimum IQ.

                  I've got a MH-1000 and it's a great guitar

It did have quality control issues though. When I got it, the pickups were wired incorrectly, but that was easily fixed. The general quality of the guitar was excelent otherwise. It's got a slick neck, and the fretwork is as good as any I've played.

For the price, the LTD Deluxe/-1000 series are fine guitars that hold up well against the equivalent competition.

                  Rock on!
