Really? Would you still suggest the Beck CS version over the standard?
I can't really say one over the other since I have never played both together. The C.S. version has some details that are different, like select light alder body vintage routed (instead of production swimming pool), thin finish, Sperzel tuners instead of Schaller locking tuners to name a few. The fit of components seems better than other production Fenders. You would have to compare yourself I would think. Also, the signature is on the back of the headstock on the C.S., instead of the front on the production model.

Cool. Thanks for the info.

My #1 Guitar (the only electric I have at the moment)
2006 MIM Fender Strat
I will be replacing the stock pickups soon. They sound tinny and I'm not a big fan of the sound of the stock single coils either (they just don't have that authentic fender single coil sound) Might even replace the pickguard and might Get a SD or a Dimarizio HB for the bridge. Other than that, I really love playing this guitar. The neck feels comfortable to play
I thought about putting getting a OFR installed on it but the total of the cost of The OFR Bridge, Routing/Installation and the setup, I may aswell buy a guitar with a Floyd.

ummmm, i could be wrong, but as far as I recall, MIM fenders use exactly the same pickups as US fenders.....??
They are around somewhere.:ROTF: I have a 1983 Sienna Smith Era Strat; a 1991 Strat Plus; an American Bullet and a lot of MIM Starts. Not to mention all of my lovely Squiers.:ROTF:
Sorry for the bad, underexposed pic. I'll take a better one later.
I went on a major gear reduction spree and sold most of my guitars and amps, to the point that I had only 4 electric guitars left and 2 amps, and I was very determined to keep it at that - until I saw this Strat.
I had one very much like it (Am Strat Dlx Ash in Tobacco Sunburst) before, but my last one was a 50th anniversary model (cooler IMO) and had a Rosewood board (not as cool IMO). I missed it after I sold it.
Then I saw this one at a local music store and fell in love with it. I've never seen such a wild grain on Ash before. It almost has a spalted look to it. As an added bonus, the body is one piece.
Anyway, I couldn't resist and bought it (bringing me up to 5 guitars), and I have to say, it's a fantastic guitar. I have a killer Musikraft neck to put on it (Thin D, Quartersawn Maple neck/Flame Maple board, Abalone front & side inlays, GraphTech nut, etc.), but I haven't done it yet because the neck it came with is so good, it seems foolish to swap it.

No I don't think so? I got told off another forum somewhere after I got my strat that the USA strats use alnicio (however you spell it) pickups and the MIM pickups are ceramic or something like that.
