  • Peavey EVH Wolfgang?

Yesterday I found a used Wolfgang in one of the shops here, and for what I figure - a reasonable price..Thing is, I don't know how to see the difference between the USA-made ones or the korean...(I'm guessing that the USA-ones have a stamp on them that says "Made in USA") but I'm gonna ask for some help from you guys anyway..

How does the USA and korean models compare? Would a korean one in used shape be worth 500 usd with case?

The Korean specials are all (veneer)quilt tops (maroon/blue/amber/tobacco burst)and Eds sig on the back of the headstock is stamped (not burnt in) they also have cheaper hardware than the US models. Read more here........

The one I found was a flat top in white that had aged, and to me it looked like EVH's signature was burnt or somewhat signed on the back of the headstock..USA then?

If it's a white flat-top, then it's a USA special. Go for it!

I got the price wrong, the correct price is 660 usd, including case...I still don't think that's a bad price, considering the playability and sound you get out of it!!

Don't know much about Ernie Balls, but I think 660 bucks for a USA EVH model with case is a pretty good deal, especially in Europe. Just doing a quick browse of EBay and Craiglist they seem to be going for around 2 grand. I say nail that thing and run like the cops are chasing you.

2 grand would be for a USA Standard (archtop), $660 is about right for a Special. But considering he's in Norway, that's probably a really good price.

The Wolfgang is still in the shop, but I also got an offer for a LTD DV8 with the JB/Jazz-combo but no case for double the price of the used Wolf which had the case and all the original case-goodies.... I like the DV8, but they're two totally different guitars..

                        What would you do?

I'm waiting to see if EVH releases the new Wolfgang to the public. He's playing one on the tour.
