I have the same problem. I have two days off a week, and being as I work nights, still have only a few hours playing time until everyone else gets home from their day jobs.
    Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

Truth be told in my case I look at it this way.
I don't do drugs, no expensive car, I have no kids and some disposable income.
Someday the cards will be reshuffled and I won't be able to do this. At least I can say I did for awhile.

Here's my formula for how man is too many:

(Amount you currently own) + 2 = Too Many

There's ALWAYS room for one more, then.

I have 5 electrics, two acoustics and a bass. My fiance once told me "no more guitars". So I bought a set of drums, rofl!!

Well, I was about to agree with those that said five is probably a good number of axes to own. I'm one to talk, as my stable just went from 9 to 10; Soon to be 11.

I think that when one starts to buy single brand, single model axes in numbers exceeding 2, then that's kind of going overboard. To each their own, of course!

Ones financial or living situation can govern what's too much or not. Family? Single? Apartment? House. I'm an apartment dwelling, single guy with a 2 bedroom. Me and my axe family cope quite well here and thank god that the landlord includes a garage for me to tinker on my car and store my 7 bicycles!

                I only have three.
A cheap acoustic, a cheap strat copy and an Epiphone Les Paul Custom. I'm planning to buy a Jackson DK2M fairly soon, which would give me 4, but I'm the sort of person who WILL become addicted to collecting guitars. It's just that since I'm a uni student right now, I can't start buying guitars at the rate I'd like to. You can never have too many guitars!

Too Many?..... I have 29 guitars and only 1 (one) of them is an acoustic, half of them are Jackson or Charvel and the other half are spread out, such as ESP, Dean, Peavey, Fender, Brian Moore and Kramer. I also have two Jacksons on order that I will be adding to my collection.

..... I don't own a single Gibson..... Probably never will! If I do purchase one, it will probably be a Alex Lifeson Model 355! But that would be it!

I currently own 4.5 guitars. 2 fully functioning electrics, a demolished electric that doesn't function that I bought at a flea market and 2 basses. I'm pretty sure it will soon be 5.5 though.

I would say "too many guitars" is when buying guitars takes away money from family obligations like children, proper food, clothes & education etc.

Aside from that I'd say theres absolutely no limit whatsoever!

I wish I could have kept all the guitars I've ever own.

So do I, but the problem I have is space. I would only be able to fit 4 guitars on stands and two under the bed in cases, at the most.
