They didn't, I have collected old promotion flyers and Schecter always had the Fender construction on their early guitars, never neck through body.

    Of course times have changed...

The Strategy I had was a set neck strat with a Jackson style headstock.Very shitty trem and pickups but the guitar itself was very well made for an early Korean made guitar.
            Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I don't know what the model was, but a friend of mine had a Schecter "Soloist-alike". Hot pink, Set-neck Pointy head, SSH, with an early Schecter/Musicman locking trem.
