I know how you feel I use to have a 83 explorer the strap popped off while I was paying I didn't grab it in time it landed on the head stock and cracked the neck. now I always use strap-locks.

Awesome guitars should be played not left in a case. So play it, just don't abuse it.
Now as for the new Gibson GOTW at the beginning of the thread, that thing should be burned or buried. I'm rather amazed that a few designers actually sat around a table somewhere and said, "You know, this is the guitar that everyone will love."
