I have never owned one, but the head on a Dean is too much for me. I really like some of their body designs, but I just can't get past that head.

Not bad, just not for me.

I would love to have a Dean Dime Razorback or the one with the lightning graphic on my wall but not really into playing a dean... The head just doesn`t look right to me..

Like them But way toooooo expensive. Not wise to pay a guitar 1200 bucks with a licensed tremolo and made in China. The US models are cool but bad pricewise. Just my .02.

I love the fact that they sell rounded V's with no pick guard......but I can not make it past the Head stock.

Dean guitars used to be the best quality and bang for the buck. Now they are mostly made in China not Korea and price has made them no longer a great value.

I for one dig the bigass split headstock. It fits well with the ML and Z shapes. Their superstrat and LP style guitars are fugly though.

I used to hate them. The Les Paul/Explorer/V mutations were so sad it was just pitiful. But whatever. They make the sweetest flying V out there I have to say. And the workmanship is good, no matter the look of the guitar. Their guitars always seem to have a warm fat tone with a lot of overtones. I'd take a Dean over a Music Man or a Hamer etc any day.

Odd you should mention Hamer...I kind of equate old Deans with Hamers as far as feel, sound, and overall quality. As well as bang for the buck. I prefer the looks of most Hamers over the Deans, but I've run across some nice Deans, too. Headstock designs vary a little bit, as Dean didn't always use the large V.
I haven't played any Music Man's at all, so I can't comment on that.
