The old USA Deans were awsome from the 80`s. I love the Czech Deans also. I have a Czech EVO that is of very high quality!!

I almost bought something like that in a Blueburst - some guy on the forum there was offering it for a stupid low price, but passed on it. I still need to get the V first. I'll have to post a family pic one of these days.
His black Caddy with three white Duncans is also pretty sexy. He uses that a bit on the Live In London DVD, but I can't seem to find a pic of it.
That's because Eric kicks ass. I saw Testament in Vegas last year, all original line up except Paul Bostaph was on drums. Fucking killer. Eric was using that V for a good part of the show. I really like the razorback V but for the price, no neck binding, shitty neck pup and dreadful licensed floyd ... all I can say is thank God they are whoring Dime's name or they would only be getting the $699 they deserve for those.
I've been checking them out pretty hard lately. I understand everyone's mileage may vary but, DAMN! I REALLY like a few of them. They have to be among the top of the list for overall bang for the buck. Downside is, for me anyway, I'm just way over the pointy guitar stage. That thins the herd quite a bit on their selection.
I ordered a 3.0, classic black, through neck, TOM bridge and Stink Eye (evil eye) inlays. I'll let ya know the verdict in about 10 days to 2 weeks. It's heading out of the factory and to the dealer this week. Didn't actually demo a 3.0, as it is a 4.0 without the figured top. The 4.0 is a player for sure. But I can't get past the razor wire inlays. Action and neck felt very much like a Jackson to me.
The Caddy and Soltero are all bidness baby. Too heavy for my bad back though. Not being a pointy guy, I make an exception for V's. But I'd prefer a more Gibson style headstock. The Dean V headstock seems to work w/that guitar though.
So of the ones I've been beating up on lately, maybe a pickup swap and leave it at that. I'm not commenting on the Floyd equipped models. Didn't even consider touching any of em. I have 2 Jacksons for that. I only checked out the TOM models.
Eric indeed does kick ass! And I don't know if it's the binding on there or what, but that headstock looks better, a little more streamlined and not as fat and wide as the typical Dean headstock.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
Yeah but yours is one of the early "Grails"! Outstanding quality!!
Really no comparison to anything made in the last 10 years imo.
Boy do you have a KEEPER !!
Some of their Vs look really good, but I can't really stand the headstock. It is just too big for me.
I can't say much about the US Guitars, but I really like to try one of those and test them. I had a couple of Asian-Runs in my hands and they are really bad quality absolutly no feel to them. They exploiding the dime-thing way to much.
The last time I pickup up a dean at guitar center , I was looking around at all of the dimebag models and most of them had the neck pickup taped down so it wouldn't fall out of the guitar. :ROTF:
um no, that comes from the factory, dimebag taped his original neck pu down so the strings would ting on the pickup
You know that's because Dime had wrapped tape around the neck pickup in his lightening bolt ML, right?
"And anyone who excessively abuses a Floyd Rose will appreciate the strips of electrical tape on the neck pickup that prevent loose strings from getting caught up in the coils."
