At the risk of coming off arrogant, I get off on out-playing some gear-snob, on cheaper gear. I've lost count on how many people I've met with top-line equipment, only to play for total shit. If it gets me from gig to gig, puts a smile on my face, AND a save a load of dough? Shit, then I say I'M the smarter person.
    I'm not Ron!

I'm not a snob for brands at all. A good guitar is a good guitar.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

I play with what i can afford, and mod the piss out of them. My favorite guitar right now is a squier which i reshaped the neck and tung oiled. Funny thing about the guitar is the best sounding pup to my ears was a Kent Armstrong. Non of my dimarzios sounded as good....Would I like a 1k+ guitar? Sure. I'd still play that squier though. Another funny thing I've noticed about guitars of all price ranges...I prefer guitars without paint or thick finish, just something about the tone.

My number 1 and number 2 players are a 1st year Ibanez RG550 that is beat to shit and a 1st year Washburn N2 Nuno Bettencourt model.
I picked the Ibanez up for $300 and the N2 was $250

I have had everything up to and including $4500.00 guitars and these 2 have always maintained their 1 and 2 status.

i played on welfare gear for years, until just in the last year i started to spend money on nice gear, never owned a USA guitar but i do have a USA made amp
both guitars are korean made, but with a few upgrades they are great guitars, and i will keep buying the cheaper guitars and do a pup upgrade if they play and sound nice,im gasing for a KV,but right now i cant afford a USA,so i would get an import, after i suck up to the wife, for now i enjoy playing my Moser SBi-T

I suck at playing guitar so I need flashy equipment to make up for it.
Too bad I don't really have any flashy gear either.

Well if you remember Frankie was a $150 axe with legendary tone and blackie was a parts mutt. More expensive doesnt always mean better tone or playablity

I'm definitely not a snob. I have some high end stuff, and some cheap stuff. My favourite guitars are my Japanese Arias. That might change when I get my KV1 back from paint, but probably not.
                        Sleep!!, That's where I'm a viking!!

I was too before i had money. I have an Aria that has been to there and back again, but it is a killer player, I love the tone, and I'd never sell it. I also built my own tube amps on the quest for the perfect tone. It was fun, but i spent most of my time hacking stuff instead of playing.

Now, I just buy cool shit (I guess I'm a snob?), and I spend more time playing than working on stuff.

My Pc1 is my go to guitar. But, my $400 Gretsch import is a real close second. My level of suckiness is the same whichever one I'm playing!
