Has anyone played a fender performer? they sold them for one year in 1986 and i have not seen many around, so my concern is there is a reason for it. they were made in Japan and a 24 fret which is not like fender so that in it self may be why they discontinued it, or it sounds like poop. i have a chance to buy one, but i really don't want to piss away the money this time of year. anyone?

These have the same knobs and the pickups look similar to the early 80's Fender Elites....
I don't know if this bridge is the Freeflyte or the first generation of it...it didn't do too well, even though it was designed and built by Schaller in Germany for the Elite's and the Elite Gold's.

Something to think about: for less than $350 ( I paid 150!)you could get a MIJ Jackson PS4 HSH configuration and a bridge that can be replaced with a Schaller with no mods and pickups that can be replaced too, if you buy you are stuck with those unless you want to throw some duncans in the oven and try to twist them into that shape!Last edited by tanpsi; 11-17-2007, 01:49 PM.
