You really should try it before you buy it. It will probably not be so much the playability issue but you probably want to make sure that you really like the sounds from those pickups. If you don't dig the pickups, it might not be worth of it to go to the trouble of replacing them.
As for the vibe of the guitar, it's different and I'm not a fan of the headstock shape.
