I'm looking at grabbing a custom from this company and I wanted to hear what some people know about them or if any one had any experience with them good or bad.

It must not be profitable enough to sue them yet.

They're based in Poland so maybe US copyright laws can't effect them? They look badass but I've never played one.

Lol, the bi-annual Ran Guitars tread is here

Do a search, some people here have got a Ran and I believe they like it very much.

If they're good enough for Vader and Jeff Waters they must be pretty sweet! Two amazing bands with great tones.

they got pretty expensive in the last couple of years. I friend of mine had one and ordered it in the early days. It was a bc rich ripoff, but played nice. He payed about 1/3 of the price today.

Look nice. Someone buy me one but not one of the faggy pointy ones just an explorer shape would be fine.

Wow, nice to see that some polish production are known in US.

Ran is a little firm from Olsztyn, Poland (~200 miles from me). About 10 years ago they produced some cheap models to polish market. Many people had negative opinion about this, so Ran has changed his mind and now are oriented on foregin people (site in only in english ).
They also have a good painter (not like Dan of course ) but customization would be also about $300+

About one year ago before I bought Jackson I thought also about CS Ran. Awaiting time is 12 weeks+, depending on your choice.
So if you are interested in buying Ran, please PM me, I will try to help you.

                    More polish brands (except Ran):

Mayones Guitars & Basses - handmade in Poland since 1982. Best known for its custom models.

I own two plan to get more when i can save the cash but i ahve enough guitars right now.

I have a 24 fret RR which i've finally swapped the 85 into the bridge...

And a custom vision which now has passives, like the RR will eventually....

They are both really nice guitars with nicely shaped necks, I prefer the Visions neck which is slightly thicker and has a satin finish compared to the RR's gloss/matching.

The waiting time is now 1 Year for all customs.

Don't forget it's very very very improtant that you spec out your guitar exactly how you want it before you get it started I mean pickups or hardware changes wont be a problem, but try and make sure that woods, shape, finish, inlays, and binding are all specced out right before you order....

That will mean that the guitar you order is the guitar you get...
