  • A makeover for my 1986 USA Stratocaster

"Shelby" is gonna get a treatment

Here's the way the guitar currently looks.

and here's the way I'm gonna make it look.

That's right I'm going for a Brad Gillis/Allan Holdsworth look here. I already bought a Dimarzio "fred" pickup that will be in this bad girl.

I prefer the way it is. Keep the three pickups.

you only just painted it recently, tho i admit i'm not a fan of the stripe, but the three singlecoil look is good....

and yes troy, he always plays single hums, ha a red/black charvel siggy, now uses crvins mostly, single hum, vintage/wilkinson trem

supershgredder, gillis uses an older floyd i think withought the fine tuners at the bridge or summin, but def an early floyd

No I already got a replacement neck ready for it, an eighties Fender japan neck with a rosewood board.

The neck's just fine. Don't change the neck. If you change it, we ,MCRBH, the Mighty Confederation of Rosewood Board Haters, will flame you.

I'm sure if you guys FELT how crappy this maple neck plays, you'd agree with me on changing it out.
