    Martin if the action is still too high. Try shimming the neck. By putting a piece of a business card in the neck pocket. Or even piece of a guitar pick. To bring the end of the neck up closer to the strings. Then make some more action adjustments to make it playable. You can use as many or as large a piece you need to make the neck go where ya need it to. Hopefully that helps a little bit. If ya got questoins just ask.     I know what you mean, I actually did that before on some cheap guitar. Might give it a go!

      How is the neck whatever you said?Is it twisted or just need a truss rod adj?

        Well I tried adjusting the truss rod and it never did a thing. I'm going to try once more with it, by doing what Jacksonfreak said.

          in 89's,my very 1st guitar i bought without my parents money
          was a black Profile,with the exact same bridge,the guy i was jamming
          with at the time had a Charvette with the exact same bridge
          i have seen Profile guitars with the same headstock as yours
          the pups look like X2N's from the 80's,but there probually knock offs
          im thinking its a generic guitar made in korea in the 80's stamped
          with whatever name from whom ever bought a case lot sale
          to try and make a quick buck,cashing in on the guitar craze of the 80's
