looks like a nice guitar! Kramer made some MEAN shit back in the day, I just hate the trem cavity route they in 1986.

if you dont like that look, try sanding it down to bare wood and oiling it, that should be nice!

I have 2 Kramer Specials. 1984. One is black and the other has a "Job". I think what you have there looks way better. Save it as-is.

        Even with the "Wanker" headstock?
        hehe
I love that kinda polarizing stuff.
        Love it or hate it.
        Thanks dudes!
OK, now, spikey is on the fence again.

Do what you think is right. (WTF are you thinking?) I have 2 Kramers and I would trade my black bodied one for what you have there. It won't happen. But, your's is one that stands out.

I love the headstock. And, I love the blue refin idea!

I say strip it, and paint it like EVH, only a blue with white stripes. Or the other way around.

                Axe, you crack me up.
The headstock is a johnson, I'll give you that.

Sentimental attraction I guess, kinda Barbra Streisand looking, but it grows on you if you're exposed to it soon/early enough.
Othewise, well.. it just don't make no damn sense whatsoever.

                Never lie to me again!

                Bwaaaaaaaaaaaahahhahaaa...!

                  I did it like EVH
                  My way
                  NOT his way
                  I bet he's jealous!

I do like the idea of blue with white stripes on my new (to me) model 3 heading my way

Thanks for the cool idea Astrocat!

If that's rattle can paint on there you can use a mild stripper that wont hurt tha original paint. That's polyester pain on there and it's super tough. Wont hurt it a bit.

Then you could fine sand it and buff it out as good as new (almost)

That sort of ugly doesn't work for me! :ROTF:

But I do think you could end up with a pretty cool guitar especially if you do some sort of custom finish, like stripes or whatnot.

                        Damn.
                        Pretty.
                        Ugly.
                        Pretty Ugly.
                        I can't decide.
I like different, but not nasty.
What are my options with strippers
                        Besides 20 table dances

Just a quick followup... sorry to make you look at the ugly creation yet again...
                            hehehe
I scored two original Schaller pickups on E-Bay for 20 bucks, installed them, along with wiring up the Vol/Tone/Tone and switch.
I think Schaller was making a better Dimarzio Distortion than Dimarzio was making back then.
Could it be the "Cher-mon ccccraftsssssminship"?
                            LOL
All I can say is wow... very nice tones, clean or dirty.
Strings are like little rubberbands that bend to whatever note you like.
                            Stays perfectly in tune.
Maple body is heavy, tones are everywhere.
                            Harmonics everywhere.
To those of you who have never played an old dick-headstock Kramer from the mid '80's... find one somewhere and play one.
                            What a machine!
