  • Suhr on the cheap...

I wanted a great Strat. I've been searching for a Suhr, Tyler, Fender CS, etc. What I ended up doing is getting a Suhr for a very reasonble price.

    1) Buy Suhr Pro series guitar on The Gear Page for $1100 - nobody wanted it because someone had moved the volume pot so there was an ugly hole there. No problem, I want to replace the pickguard anyhow because the Pro series has a H-S-S config and I wanted a traditional Strat S-S-S config.

    2) Buy Fralin Blues Specials for $210 - I prefer these to the Suhrs.

    3) Order new Suhr pickguard for $50.

    4) Sell Suhr pickups - I should be able to get $125-150 for them - haven't done that yet.

The result is a killer Suhr Strat for what should end up being under $1300 when all is said and done.

Sounds killer. The Suhr fretwork is fantastic. The neck shape is great.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

      TOO SWEET!!!

That rocks Tim, congrats and is that not one of the baddest guitars you have owned. I can't praise Suhr enough.

In the last few weeks they really has seem to be a boom on these in this forum. And for $1100 you stole that. Those classic guitar stiffs can sometimes never look past, the "it doesn't look authentic" and realize they could of had a blow your ass off guitar, that could be made your own, for next to nothing.

It's like you made money buying that.:ROTF:
