Thinking of getting an Ibanez rgt42dx

I played one last night and the price is pretty good.

what do you guys think about it?

My bandmate has one (bought brand new 3 years ago) and I also had one for a short period of time, sold it lately.

I think they play really well and sound really good with the correct pups but I don't think they are built to last long. My bandmate's rgt42 seems like it's 20 years old or so

I'm not sure how much you're going to pay for it but I'd try to grab something made in japan, in that price range you have a couple of options An slsmg maybe? And if it's going to be korean I'd try to buy a schecter.

I personally think its one of the better looking lower end RG's out there.

Does not play too bad either with a proper set up.

Not a fan of the pickups or edge 3. But what else can you ask for from a <$300 neck thru guitar.

Find an older 550 and you will have a much better guitar.
Get a MIJ they are far beter.
