  • Frankenstraat, opinions?

As i have said earlier i am building a partsocaster, already bought the body+floyd, and soon it's time for the neck.

I will most likley go for a Frankenstraat neck, but would like to hear some more opinions about them first.

How is the quality/fretwork compared to warmoth or musikraft?

never had a frankenstraat but warmoth & musikraft both make nice stuff. im not too fond of the truss rod musikraft uses but it works.

They're definetly as good or better. I've used quite a few of them myself.

Yeah I heard that same rumor.
I was under the impression that he built all his stuff though before that

I never heard he used musikraft necks, maybe he used to? I remember seeing pictures at his website/forum of necks he was building along with some of the bodies. I've never personally dealt with him but he's a popular builder over at eddievanhalen.com (Surprise)

Sounds pretty weird if he can sell Musikraft necks cheaper than Musikraft themself can.

                  He doesn't sell Musikraft necks.
                  He makes his own.

                  Check out his website ...

Yes, the musikraft rumour seems like nothing else than just a rumour.

Thanks for all the help! Especially Model1VH2, i know i asked in you Olp thread as well, but this guitar will cost about a grand for me to build so i wanna be sure that everything is perfect.

As soon i i can sell my Hm strat, i will order the Frankenstraat neck.

I will make a new thread when the guitar is finished, but unfortunately that may be a month or two away.

How long is the delivery time for a neck btw?

Can you explain the diffrence between those and Warmoth and/or Musikraft, regarding quality and fretwork?

You can't go wrong with either one I suppose. I never ordered a Warmoth neck but I did buy one from the classified that is maple with ebony crosses. Its a nice neck, nice fretwork.

I like the selections you can have when I order Musikraft necks. I like that I can order a neck profile in various shapes and sizes and make a true custom piece with it. Pluse a nice selection of chice woods, birdseye, flame maple etc..

Some of the frets on a couple necks gotten from them needed to be smoothed out a bit but really no a big deal for me. Others necks were pretty much dead nuts perfect which is why I'll always go Musikraft if I want a new neck.
