So true...the custom Hamer Standard I had built was only 5 months as well. I placed the order through my local dealer on June 29th..Plus this thing is perfect..no issues like some FMIC guitars..oh well I still love my Charvies.
I can't take credit..I put a couple of Private stocks together into one..a single cut with a similar burst (I went with red tiger/charcoal) and a Mccarty that had the flamed maple neck/headstock. Thought they'd look cool together.
I just don't get it. How the hell do companies like Hamer, Suhr, and PRS put out absolutely perfect high end pieces in 3-5 months from the time you order it, to a company like J/C that take almost 2 years to get a nice guitar.
you are looking at it backward.
frame the question the other way: since every other high quality guitar mfgr can and does regularly deliver a product in 3-5 months, why does it take one company 2 yrs? and what is the cause for that absurd delivery time?
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

The worst part is that with the new pricing a comparable Jackson will cost more than a Hamer or Suhr and probably on par with a PS PRS.
*** Cause they dont let them sit in "shipping" doing nothing for another
10 months! Carvin is even better! 4 months tops
There is one guy in a PRS forum I visit that has been waiting about 3 years for his PRS Private Stock to be finished... go figure... not sure how some can get completed to quickly while others take so long.
