Kramer Aluminun Neck

Any one ever own one? I had one like this for a couple years:

I was just reminded of it because in that new VH book EVH has a Kramer doubleneck with one aluminum neck.

I remember the neck feeling really nice, but I was always afraid of loosing these roller pins at the nut!

I knew someone years ago that had one, he complained it would not stay in tune due to temperature changes, but, the neck felt ok.
I just remember when he brought it to my house, it was winter, and I
felt that ice cold aluminum on my hands, and hated it.
