Squiers and ALNICO pups

I just had to take my Squier Standard apart. It's the $99 Trans-Amber. Staggered poles and everything. And it sounds pretty good. Here's the proof.

Those Squiers alnicos are sweet pickups.AFAIK they are the same that are used in the Hwy 1 series usa strats.
I traded one to DARYLV for some electronics repair and he loves his.
IMO these are very well made and kick ass.Great paint jobs too.

Everyday I see fett's logic more clearly. Spend $250 on a squier or $1000 on a highway one and get the same pickups. hmmm.....

Hehe. Those Squiers tend to play nice, they just tend to have crappy setups, fret work, and hardware. A little upgrade here and there, maybe new pickups, and you've got a guitar just as good as a MIM or Highway one. Hey fett, you should try a scallopped neck on one of those...

The pups on the highway 1's. Are the USA fender pups. As are al the electronics. As of this last year. The older modle WHY1 had the mexican 50' ,60's reissue pups. The squier std pups are Cort alnico pups. As Cort makes the Squiers for Fender. All the elctronics are Cort stock.

Fett, did you have to take it apart to fix something, or did you have to take it apart to see what was in there?

To see what was there. It has reissue real Kluson Deluxe tuners too.
