  • Solid Maple bodied Guitars

Is there anything available besides the Lynch Kami's and a couple of cheap imports by Hamer and Godin? I have been searching the internet and come up with nothing.

I built my own using a Warmoth Soloist body made of Western Maple. It sounds awesome and not too heavy at all

Older Carvins had all-maple bodies, but since the 90s they have had poplar or alder wings. They might still offer maple as an option, but I think they got some flak about being overly bright which prompted them to swich.

My Carvins are all maple and I love the tone personally for its clarity.

I believe you can still order a maple Carvin.

I gave it a look on Carvin's site a month or so ago and didnt see the maple option for the body. I will give it another try.

My Washburn CS780 is an all maple solid body (thinline, like the Ibanez S-series). Love the sound I get from it, very clean.

I had an 80's Carvin V220 (maple neck and body). That was the brightest guitar ever. Maple just doesn't have the warmth and an entire guitar made of maple is what I avoid in a guitar.

I get requests for maple bodies and I have built several so you are not alone in wanting them

It's not listed on their site. There's a lot of options they don't have listed. You've got to call.

Carvin has now added it as an option on the DC series at least. I am leaning towards a DC145 with maple body/maple neck, black hardware, tuneomatic string through, jumbo frets tung oil neck and red headstock/body with H/S/S config. Birdseye maple neck option is only $30.00, but tonally I am not sure what that would do if anything, but it would look swweeeet. Thanks everyone, seems like a couple of months ago it was not listed as an option. You would not believe the price either. Good gravy now I have terrible gas.
