  • Replacement neck for my Strat

I thinking about replacing my current rosewood with a maple on one of my Strats.. I see all these Lic. replacements necks but don't know which ones are quality necks. There's a few sub 100.00 .. I don't know if they are worth a shit or not.

The only draw back of changing the neck is once I do change it.. it's no longer a Fender..

From what I have heard the sub $100 necks are hit or miss, with more misses than hits. IMO I would go with Warmoth or Musikraft, pricey of course.
    Turn that Sh......... down!

I have had great luck buying '80's Fender Squier necks made in Korea. They good quality slender necks with a cool radius. They come in maple as well.

            Not a "real" Fender neck.
            Those things still fetch $150+

+1 Plus you can specify the wood on these, rock maple, flame, birdseye, premium birdseye, or any combination of woods, etc.

I don't really see that as a drawback, Just keep the old neck too. I've had several warmoth necks and they're great. I have one on the way as we speak.

if you want to stay with the Fender look and feel then I'd just buy a Fender USA neck off eBay. I have a coupe maple ones that got on eBay between 170-200 or so.

Look for a used Warmoth neck. Depending on back profile and radius, they can actually be a marked improvement over the Fender neck that you have
