Yeah wtf, you gotta learn to listen through the sour notes and hear the whole package. Seriously though, factory setups aside, I don't think the current staff and management at my local GC's even know what to do to set up a guitar. A few years back, there were some killer players; metalheads, rockabilly guys that really knew their shit. The current crop of lifers and punk kids have to be poked and prodded to do the right thing.
As someone who's bought at least a few 'high end' guitars with finish issues because they sounded and played well, I can't speak to the quality of current Gibson production.
