  • New Ibanez Trem

Hi, Can anybody here read Japanese?
This Guitar looks really cool, and I think that trem looks interesting, but I can't read the details.

Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day, set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Basically a ZR trem with the fine tuners chopped off. It is a ballbearing type trem and has a khaler feel to it.

That guitar also comes with locking tuners and a graphite nut.

Does it fit on current ZR/Floyd posts?

        It's called the Edge Zero.

No it's not. That's the Knife edged trem. This one is ball bearing.

The ZR is different from a floyd.

Hopefully they don't have the 'click' the ZRs have when returning to the zero point.

My S520 with the ZR was doing the click noise when returning to zero but then it quit doing it one day. Never did figure out what was doing it. Personally I think the ZR that looks like the wilkinson would be cool. Just seems easier to me to bend strings when there's no locking nut.

In all the ones I've noodled with in the shop, there's a noticeable 'click.' Maybe it goes away once you play with it for a while.

It's been driving one of my student nuts--he'll be really happy if it goes away on its own.

Two things....Tighten the trem arm...they always become loose and then BREAK.

                      And...remove the ZPS widget.

                        From the link posted above:

                        SyncroniZR Tremolo Bridge

                        ZR-II Tremolo Bridge

                        Edge-Zero

                        This guitar is quite gorgeous:

For those with the latest Guitar Player mag (February 2008 issue), there is an Ibanez' ad showing a quilted S model with 24 frets "S". It looks pretty interesting...
