I still love the u.s.a. charvels and jacksons very much!(received both of mine back today after a much needed fret level/polish/crown etc. They really scream!

At the same time, a Fender Strat(Eric Johnson model) came in. I'd tried a few of these at different guitar stores and really liked the one's that I played. This one is no different! It's perfect, was shipped to survive a trip to the bloodiest battle in Iraq and is soo mint, it's almost a sin to play

The back shape is quite full, but the guitar is buzz free and sounds awesome.

I'm going to give it a little time and play it to see if it bonds with me or not.

On how I feel towards it....I just told a friend, when I played my blue jackson for the first time in a month with fresh strings, PEGGED action and super slick neck...felt like I bagged my favorite porn star! Playing this one was nice, but the fireworks haven't gone off yet. We'll see how it goes! I might be strictly a Charvel/Jackson player

Yep, it's unique seeing a fender in there. I've always received Jacksons and Charvels.

I am totally spoiled by the "specially formulated oil finish" by the newer one's and the light oil finishes our u.s.a.'s had back in the day. That is the most difficult thing to get used to. That and I think this thing has .010's on it with standard tune. LOL, I haven't knocked it out of tune yet either! The whammy bar won't go in. Like the kahler on my blue one, anything w/o a floyd to me(JMHO) is not good.

I'll report back after a few days.

I will summarize one feature I love about it, it's clean sound on the fourth click(two from the top) man they're nice!!!

it may look nice, probably for someone else it'd play nice, but this guitar just isn't me. i tried a bunch last night to get used to it, and today. nada! i'm a flat radius, maple/maple pointy head fan!

we'll see what it can fetch and how that les paul/epiphone feels when that comes in. one thing is for sure, i am NOT a fender guy. never have been.
